Anthem Habitat for Humanity work day

Anthem Structural Engineers volunteer for Habitat for Humanity 2017

Giving Back

On Wednesday June 14th, we took the morning to serve in our community.  We admire the work that Habitat for Humanity does all around the country, and wanted to contribute some of our skills to that work here in Boulder County.  Applicants are selected for home ownership based on:

  • Proven need
  • Having lived in the area for the past 12 months
  • The willingness to contribute 225 hours of "sweat equity" into building their home, with the help of Habitat volunteers.
  • Proven steady employment for more than two years.

The home is not given to the applicants but sold to them at a lower price than market value, and provided with an interest free mortgage to repay the loan.  We were honored to be a part of this program

Our A-Team in action

We donned the hats of painters and dry-wallers for the morning.  Our fearless leaders would have preferred jobs that were more structural in nature so as to relate to what we do on a daily basis,  but we were glad to serve in the jobs that were needed.
