Dave Johnson joined Anthem in 2021. He has more than 17 years of professional experience as a practicing structural engineer and has been a licensed professional engineer for more than 11 years after obtaining his professional engineering license in 2011. Dave has worked in a number of sub-industries within the construction field, including working on large municipal projects like locks and dams, various industrial projects (cement plants, steel plants, manufacturing facilities, etc.), working as a plan reviewer for the City and County of Denver, as well as operating his own firm for a few years. He has worked on projects ranging from small projects ($50,000) to medium-large projects (upwards of $15,000,000). Dave has strong client communication, project coordination, and resource management skills, as well as deep design problem solving experience. Dave leads Anthem’s BIM standards team where he provides a fresh perspective helping to update Anthem’s BIM resources, tools, and standards. Dave has been a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado (SEAC) since 2005, is a current member of the SEAC Business Management Committee and has been active in the industry through organizations such as AISC, ASCE, AWC, and ACI. Lastly, Dave is proficient with many popular structural software platforms, including those from Autodesk (Revit, AutoCAD), Bentley (RAM Suite, STAAD), RISA (Floor, 3D), Tekla (Structural Designer, Tedds), Enercalc, and Bluebeam.
