Originally born in the Philippines but mostly raised in Kansas, Elvin had an early passion for building design, mathematics, and problem-solving. He knew he wanted to pursue a career in structural engineering and thus left to attend the University of Colorado where he graduated with both degrees in Architectural Engineering and a minor in Environmental Design.

Elvin began his professional career at a large engineering consulting firm as a structural design intern for a water process and infrastructure group, but soon transferred over to the local buildings group as a full-time engineer, where he spent the next 5 years working alongside in-house architects and MEP engineers on various projects. His first being the Denver International Airport Concourse Expansion Program, where he assisted with the construction administration efforts for both Concourse C and B East. Other projects include additional on-call services for the DEN airport, commercial tenant improvements, existing building alterations for electric vehicle services, and a couple manufacturing facilities.
