Sam joined the Anthem team as their first out of state employee in the Spring of 2022. Over the years, many things have contributed to Sam’s love for structural design. She spent much of her time as a child helping her father renovate their family home, starting to learn how things go together. After experiencing the 2001 Nisqually earthquake as a young child in Washington State, she became aware of the importance of resilience in the built environment. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest has led to a deep appreciation of nature that has sparked her passion in building sustainability.

After completing her Architectural Engineering studies at California Polytechnic State University, she returned to the PNW to begin her career in downtown Seattle. Pursuing her interests in wood construction and seismic design, she spent time designing multi-family residential structures and luxury homes in and around the Seattle area.

Sam loves working on complex designs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to complete her projects. Her passion for design stems from being able to physically see a product of her work rise out of the earth.

When I’m not working, I’m……

When the weather is nice and the mountain is out, I enjoy gardening or spending time near the shoreline with my two dogs.
